J.D. Power and Associates recently released the results from its 2008 Digital Camera Usage and Satisfaction Survey, which included Digital SLR cameras.
The study looked at digital cameras in four separate categories: ultra slim, point and shoot, premium point and shoot, and DSLR. In every segment, several main factors were measured to determine the customer satisfaction. They included performance, picture quality, ease of operation, and styling and appearance. It also looked into user trends amd pricing.
In the Digital SLR cameras, the Nikon D and the Canon EOS Digital SLR tied with a score of 823 out of 1,000, which was the highest score out of the entire survey. The Canon EOS DSLR cameras scored particularly high ratings from customers in picture quality, while the Nikon D series - which with this tie ranks highest for now the second year in a row - received the the nod in ease of operation, appearance and styling, and performance. Neither model is currently cheap, but the prices continue to decline.
