Cheap Digital SLR Camera

During 1999 Nikon launched the the first digital SLR camera, the D1. Today, every camera manufacturer wants their space in the segment, in particular the cheap digital SLR market. Some of the names in the market may surprise you.

For almost a decade, there were two choices for DSLRs. Nikon and Canon. Now you can choose between Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic, and others. With this competition, prices have eased and become cheaper, with an array of accessories are on offer.

The DSLR pyramid camera is now accessible to even the most frugal budget. But to truly experience the realm of professional photographer, you have to draw a baseline, which now stands at 10 megapixels.

The biggest bargain in Digital SLR segment today over 10 megapixels, is the Nikon D200. A good three years since its ballyhooed launch, it is available for a cheap price. It has 10.2 megapixels with almost all the features of Nikon's top models.

The latest DSLR camera launches include the Nikon D300 as well as the Canon EOS 40D. As usual, these two competitors are very evenly matched, almost as close as as they can get with features and quality.
