Pros : High quality picture, 10.2 megapixels. In-camera image stabilization. Large choice of lenses and accessories. A solid choice for your first DSLR camera, especially considering that it is now so cheap. Higher resolution than the Digital Rebel XT. Long lasting battery.
Cons : Not the best low lighting pictures. Based upon Konica Minolta technology that Sony bought, so slightly older. Noise will start to show in some pictures at a low ISO. In a few extreme instances, noise was in images at 400 ISO.
Comments : The Sony DSLR-A100 is Sony’s first Digital SLR camera, and it is a solid performer. This camera is rated not as highly as the Canon Rebel XT, but due have more features than the Nikon D40. While the Nikon D40 is rated as a Best Buy, that is because it has the best balance of features and price.

-Despite some minor areas to improve, the Sony A100 is a highly impressive debut and compelling proposition. At its cheap price, the 10.2-megapixel resolution, slightly longer kit lens, and built-in anti-shake and make it a worthy alternative to the 350D SLR.
-The Sony DSLR-A100 is a good performer. It offers speedy boot up as well as wake-from-sleep mode, and it has very low shutter lag. The Alpha 100s drive mode is very speedy for this entry level market, and it offers three frames per second for six frames when shooting raw, and it also provides unlimited drive mode when shooting JPEGs, which will let you shoot until your memory card is full.
